  3. Recap of 3 Workshops: PBL is Alive and Well

    July 31, 2011 by admin

I found that similarities exist among the otherwise very different educational settings I visited this past summer.  Teachers provided evidence that PBL is an effective combination of their own successful teaching strategies.  I received universal positive feedback on the use of the 10 Question Protocol as a way to plan a project with practical details and appropriate rigor.

I am confident there will be a lot of very good projects from these workshops that will energize teaching and learning this coming school year.  I found working with teachers for this third straight summer the most rewarding yet and hope to continue guiding great PBL design at these fine schools and others.

  5. Day 3 – Kiski

    July 13, 2011 by admin

An excellent first two days working with the Kiski staff. Some excellent ideas for projects…impressive collaboration. Presentations from Day 3 (half day) include documents that follow the 10 question protocol. They can be found under the appropriate names in the drop down menus.

  7. PBL at Latin School of Chicago – June 20, 21 and 22

    June 20, 2011 by admin

As a follow up to last years workshop, we will continue our work with PBL implementation.  We have a nice mix of teachers that return from last year’s workshop and new teachers.  I have received feedback from the HTH Committee and have read the responses to those questions submitted online.  I intend to run this workshop much as I would in my PBL classroom.  I will attempt to find the right mix of guided practice and facilitation.  There will be plenty of time for teachers to work on developing projects!

  8. Project Based Learning Workshop

    January 28, 2011 by admin

The next PBL workshop at Latin School of Chicago has been scheduled and I am looking forward to getting a chance to work again with this great group of educators. I will also be facilitatiing a PBL workshop at Kiski School in Pennsylvania July 2011.  Looking forward to helping develop strong PBL practitioners.
